Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman

Jim Ross has made it known that he wants Paul Heyman on the WWF creative team. The two combined on WCW telecasts during the early ’90s and were both victims of WCW politics before going their separate ways – Ross moving into the inner circle of the World Wrestling Federation and Heyman starting his trend-setting Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion. With ECW all but dead, Heyman is too valuable a wrestling commodity to sit idle for too long, and Ross is wisely courting the former boy wonder from Scarsdale.

“I’m still not sure whether that’s a reality or just a rumor,” Hunter Hearst Helmsley said concerning Heyman. “I don’t know Paul E. that well, but obviously in seeing the things that he has done with his company and his ability to create a lot, where sometimes he didn’t have much to work with, obviously he’s very much a genius. He might not be the best businessman in the world, but as far as the business goes, he’s a hell of a mind. Anytime I can sit down and rub noggins with somebody who has as much experience as that and has been in the business that long and has done what he’s done, I would love that opportunity. It would be a thrill for me to be able to sit in a room and pick his brain and to hear his take on things and get a fresh perspective. I would love the opportunity.”
